Overview

Looking for an EDI Administrator with some experience in EDI, billing, transportation systems, or a willingness to learn. This position will focus on EDI but will work on cross functionally in an area of expertise that they choose (IT Support, Networking/Security, or Systems Administration).

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is used for exchanging order and billing data electronically between trading partners. This individual will help automate business processes and support the company in going paperless.

*Prefer candidates with an AA or AS Degree or currently attending college in computer science or a related field of study or has obtained certification in key areas*

About the Role:

TransWood is a liquid chemical and dry bulk motor carrier based out of Omaha Nebraska with close to 40 offices spread throughout the United States. As a member of the IT team, you will be supporting the internal customers to ensure their operations run with minimal downtime. We are enablers and problem solvers, always looking for ways to help the business grow and succeed.

We are looking for a service-oriented EDI Administrator to control all servers, systems, and processes internal to the company related to EDI. This individual will ensure licensing and software are up-to-date utilizing monitoring software and other tools. This position will be responsible for all implementation, configuration, and monitoring of the EDI systems working directly with our Project Manager, software subject matter experts and customer IT personnel. A well-rounded understanding of hardware, software, file transfer protocols, and databases will be needed to be successful in this position. With a small, tight-knit IT team this position will be drawn into support of users and customers as a link in the escalation chain for EDI problems that point to server environment and configuration changes.

This is an important position within the IT team but will work with stakeholders throughout the company as well as external customers. A basic level of other core IT areas is required, but we will also allow you to explore the many facets of the IT space and help grow your career along your desired path. Our team has a wealth of knowledge in system administration, network administration, end-user hardware, server management, virtualization, Office 365 administration, database administration, business intelligence development, business analysis, project management, and we are always looking at new software and technology in our everchanging environment.

The two most important qualities that a competitive candidate will possess are a strong ability to troubleshoot and document. Solving the problem is a start, but this person needs to solve the problem and then document how and why the issue occurred so that it can be prevented moving forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain EDI environment becoming the subject matter expert and product champion.
  • Research and identify solutions to EDI problems in a timely manner.
  • Create and follow update schedules ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot a broad range of technical issues.
  • Track escalated issues through to resolution, providing notes and updates in the IT Support Desk ticketing system.
  • Refer to internal database or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions.
  • Prioritize and manage several open issues and projects at one time.
  • Work on specific projects as assigned by IT Manager, Project Manager, or other stakeholders.
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of internal Knowledge Base articles.
  • Document environment, software, and services. Ensure updates to equipment lists is done accurately.
  • Recommend process/technology changes when and where it makes sense.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers and team members.

Prerequisite Skills:

  • EDI experience preferred
  • Willing interest to continue to learn new skills and product knowledge.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills

  • Must be willing and able to carry up to 35lbs up and down stairs

Schedule:

  • Day shift - 8-hour shift
  • Monday thru Friday with instances of working nights/weekends during critical incidents or updates
