Job Summary: Works under limited supervision, responsible for the receipt and shipment of incoming materials, supplies, products and proper warehousing of goods in the factory. Responsible to lead, train, assist, and direct the work of the Warehouse, Shipping, Receiving & IC team.
Must follow established procedures and guidelines to provide timely and effective clerical documentation to freight providers, internal, and internal customers. Ensure proper systemic transactions are completed timely and accurately for transport and distribution unit or department.
Accountabilities:
- Follow HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) policies and work instructions
- Lead, train and direct the work of lower-level team members.
- Assist, plan, and organize shipping, receiving, and inventory locations
- Ensure all products are shipped & received on time, within budget, and to standard
- Comply with proper handling, storage, and shipping requirements for Hazardous materials
- Ensure material movements are completed accurately and timely
- Obtain and maintain Hazardous Shipping Certification and Forklift License
- Assist with the lean enterprise system in the shipping, receiving, and inventory processes
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- A (working) Lead level person is responsible for leading the team as follows:
- Working under limited supervision for non-routine situations.
- Responsible for leading daily operations in the department.
- Training, delegating, and reviewing the work of lower-level team members.
- Direct the work of the team members.
- Provide feedback and instructions to help team members improve
- Provide input regarding the team members to the Supply Chain & IC Manager – NA
- This position does not provide performance assessments, disciplinary actions, hire/fire, etc. of the team members
- Problems are typically difficult and non-routing but not complex.
- Ensures items are ready for shipment according to specifications and transportation method.
- Contacts shipping agencies, transport companies, and customers to obtain delivery prices and schedules transportation requirements
- Computes duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise exported/imported to/from foreign destinations
- Completes shipment of hazardous goods shipments in accordance with local and/or federal requirements and maintains documentations according to company retention periods
- Receives goods, verifies items against the record of receipt resolves discrepancies
- Conducts cycle counts in accordance to ABC counting rules and updates in system as needed
- Completes material movements, issues materials, complete scrap transactions
- Conducts timely delivery of point of use material replenishment or material kitting for production
- Actively participate in physical inventory planning, coordination, and execution
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Competencies required:
- Effectively communicate, verbal and written, with internal and external business partners, English preferred (bi-lingual a plus)
- Maintain compliance with organizational Core Values and Leadership Competencies
- Comply with all Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory work instructions and procedures and follows all company SOP’s
- Proficient with MRP systems management and other ERP applications
- Experienced in managing trucking company logistics
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Must have working knowledge of computers
- Experienced with MS Office Suite
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- Requires minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
- LEAN experience in manufacturing environment
- At least 3 years of experience in a shipping/receiving role
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit/stand/walk for up to 10 hours/day
- Must be able to operate material handling equipment
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
