Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital is one of the nation’s foremost facilities for medical rehabilitation and research. Specializing in traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, medically complex and pediatric rehabilitation, Madonna offers hope and healing to thousands of patients from throughout the country each year.

CPs park in the North lot and use badge access to enter.

Department Notes

Acute Rehab is located on the 2nd floor of the Omaha campus and consists of 4 hallways; R1 - Brain injury (16 beds), R2 - Stroke (16 beds), R3 - Overflow, Cardiac (16 beds), R4 -Pediatrics (14 beds). Each section consists of two pods of 8 beds each, separated by a dining area in the middle.

Patients in Acute Rehab receive an average of three hours of therapy each day.

Specialty Profile Notes

LPN Ratio - Days - 1:5, Nights - 1:6. Nurse Assistants are part of the care model.

Overhead lifts in all rooms

LPN will not float to Pediatrics. Vent experience is not required as Respiratory Therapy will manage all vents; however, LPN must be able to ensure vent is connected to patient and troubleshoot alarms.

Dress code: Any color and brand of professional scrubs may be worn. Madonna-branded tops, including Madonna-branded t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, polos, quarter zips and full zips may be worn with any color scrub pant. No other facility logos should be displayed on scrubs or tops. Departments that require a specific polo color will continue to follow department guidelines. These departments also have the option to wear Madonna-branded clothing in any color.

Communication: Cisco phones

Medication: Omnicell

Schedule: 6 week schedules, with two weekends required every 6 weeks, 12 hour shifts (6:45am-7:15pm or 6:45pm-7:15am), 13 week contracts only, no block scheduling and minimum time off should be requested upon submittal.

Orientation: Occurs twice per month on Tuesday; one at Omaha and one at Lincoln. Madonna prefers that LPN attends orientation at the location where LPN will be working, but will accommodate training at the other location if needed. Classroom orientation Tue-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm, with 2 orientation shifts on unit. Orientation includes online modules, skills check-off, training on equipment and charting, transfers and positioning.
