Overview
TRC Advanced Energy (TRC), a nationally known energy consultancy, is seeking a building science expert to support residential new construction outreach and program support services in Seattle, Washington. This brand new position in Washington State needs your skills to become a successful endeavor, helping connect builders, raters, and consumers to create energy efficient homes. Your ability to engage with the right individuals and business serves as the focal point for creating your book of business. Your knowledge of the Seattle, WA and surrounding area provides your with an in-depth understanding of the local climate and needs. As an assertive, personable, confident, self-starter working from home, you have the opportunity to expand TRC's client base, reduce energy consumption, and make a difference in your local community and state.
Responsibilities
- Promote energy programs to builders, energy rating professionals, contractors, home builder association members, and product manufacturers
- Develop and maintain relationships with program participants, stakeholders, public officials, and other market actors centered on the residential building industry
- Provide design and technical assistance to projects and recommend relevant energy efficiency measures
- Conduct onsite inspections to verify that the energy efficiency measures meet program quality standards
- Be capable of communicating program offerings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Attend trade shows and other industry events
- Provide technical guidance and support or assist in addressing onsite issues
- Prepare and contribute to status reports
- Host trainings via webinar and in person, sharing energy efficiency best practices and industry trends
Qualifications
- Associate's degree and at least two years relevant experience or at least four years of relevant experience
- Experience in construction, HERS ratings, LEED, BPI, Passive House or related building science field
- Knowledge of building science and residential construction
- Familiarity with multifamily and single family residential design and construction processes
- Established critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Established presentation and public speaking skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Valid, unencumbered US driver's license; position entails travel, mostly within Washington.
