POSITION SUMMARY
TRC is seeking a Hydrogeologist to join our New Providence, NJ Engineering, Construction, and Remediation team. This position would be part of a very skilled team that works closely with Project Managers and other technical leads providing technical support for site investigation, due diligence, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Support environmental compliance and remediation related projects in the field and office.
- Perform a variety of field work including environmental assessments, environmental investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, site inspections, and subcontractor oversight.
- Design and implement pumping tests and other investigative techniques, and analyze the resulting data to quantify aquifer hydraulic properties.
- Use available software to undertake aquifer hydraulic calculations and model groundwater flow systems.
- Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, work plans, design documents, and construction documents in support of engineering design from pilot to full-scale remediation system design.
- Support management of medium-to-large, complex tasks to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Assist during proposal development including preparation of work scopes and budgets.
- Limited travel regionally and state-wide on short and long-term assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Master's Degree in Hydrogeology from an accredited university.
- Academic training in groundwater flow dynamics and contaminant transport in the groundwater environment.
- Experience with standard groundwater modeling programs.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attitude and ability to work well within a team environment.
- Excellent writing/verbal communication skills for interaction with multi-disciplinary staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Ability (with training) to perform and manage field work (construction oversight, drilling oversight, soil/groundwater sampling, etc.).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- In addition to the basic qualifications the qualifications below are highly desired but not required:
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, ESRI, and/or HydroCAD.
- 1-5 years experience, including quantitative analysis of aquifer characteristics (pump test, slug test), remedial investigations in unconsolidated and bedrock aquifers, remediation well network design, monitoring well design and installation, experience with development and submission of MNA and CEA applications under NJDEP regulations and guidance.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate (with an up-to-date 8-hr annual refresher course certification).
- Knowledge of environmental regulations (NJDEP)
