TRC is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Senior Engineer to support our commercial and industrial energy program implementation in the TVA service territory. Projects and responsibilities may include energy engineering analyses, project QA/QC, on-site inspections, instrumentation deployment, Measurement and Verification (M&V), energy modeling and customer meetings.

Eligible candidates will be a hands-on, highly skilled resource and possess strong technical capabilities including knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency, green building and sustainability. Background and/or degrees in mechanical or energy engineering, sustainability and/or energy efficiency is preferred. The position is located in the Tennessee Valley. Seeking talent in Nashville, TN market, but also open to remote candidates in Alabama, Mississippi, and Kentucky.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct on-site inspections to verify installation of energy projects are consistent with designs and scopes of work
  • Establish baseline and retrofit energy consumption for industrial and commercial systems through measurement, calculation, and analysis to determine the effect of system improvements; including statistical analysis for influencing factors (production, weather, season etc.)
  • Draft and implement M&V Plans; decide the duration of the measurement period; match logging equipment to the expected load and verify that measurement periods accounts for variation in external effects (productions cycles, weather changes, etc.)
  • Oversee field instrumentation and meter deployment
  • Perform energy audits for commercial customers to determine potential energy efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct energy analysis and whole building modeling (simulations)
  • Identify operations and maintenance energy savings opportunities in buildings
  • Deliver high quality reports requiring minimal quality control efforts
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines and client expectations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors to ensure that deliverables meet or exceed the customer's expectations

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to set priorities, collect and document project requirements, successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be a quick and eager learner of new material and think holistically through complex problems, with technical and non-technical components
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a proactive and collaborative style that works well in teams
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as the ability to work in a team atmosphere to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key stakeholder groups
