What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Mapping Designer position at TRC?
TRC is seeking a highly motivatedCAD Designer or Technician to assist in providing project mapping support. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic to work with engineers, project managers, and other technical staff in the preparation of drawings, designs and figures associated with technical documents. Organization, communication, and design skills will be essential to efficiently produce quality outputs while meeting budget and schedules on multiple concurrent projects.
Responsibilities include the following.
- Assist in the design and generate drawings for a variety of projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other Autodesk products (e.g., property plats, permit drawings, alignment sheets)
- Work closely with the project's survey and mapping coordinators to complete project deliverable needs across multiple TRC offices
- Actively involved in the QA/QC process to ensure that project deliverables meet requirements
- Manage deadlines and the prioritization of assignments
- Prepare and package intermediate and final design plans for submittals.

Requirements:- A minimum of 3 years Civil 3D Mapping/Survey related work experience
- Experienced/Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D software, including but not limited to the development of alignments, profiles, sections, surfaces, and knowledge of CAD StandardsWorking knowledge of survey data and aerial photography/imagery
- Working knowledge of title documents such as deeds, legal descriptions, sectionalized land, etc.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Requires good oral communication skills
- Basic mathematical knowledge to support technical, surveying and mapping calculations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Work Environment
This job will require most of the work to be performed in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled office setting. Some activities may require overnight travel to field locations and client offices.
Preferred work location of Houston, TX – Tulsa, OK – Pittsburgh, PA. Remote accommodations possible on a case-by-case basis.
