POSITION SUMMARY
TRC Companies, Inc., is seeking a Senior Wetland Scientist / Senior Project Manager to join our Permitting, Planning and Licensing Practice. The position will be located in Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids, MI. Remote option is available for candidates in Indiana, and Illinois, however the ideal candidate will be in Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids, MI. The Senior Project Manager / Senior Wetland Scientist would be involved in developing business and managing a wide variety of energy-related projects including renewable energy generation projects, electric transmission, and liquid petroleum pipelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Prepare environmental permit applications at federal, state, and local levels, and prepare technical reports. This includes permit applications and supporting technical documentation for compliance with Section 401/404 of the Clean Water Act, Sections 7 and 10 of the Endangered Species Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, as well as associated state and local level environmental regulations and ordinances.
- Lead and conduct wetland delineations and technical writing of wetland delineation reports as well as other biological surveys and reporting.
- Coordinate wetland and waterway delineations, cultural resource surveys, threatened & endangered species surveys and serve as a quality assurance reviewer of technical reports.
- Be able to effectively communicate with technical staff, clients, stakeholders, regulatory agency staff, and contractors.
- Travel to projects sites for field work and client offices as needed to manage projects and develop business.
- Perform occasional biological surveys and wetland delineations.
- Abide by Company policies and procedures.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
