Position: Machine Operator
Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 4:30pm, Occasional Saturday
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Operate, clean and service hydraulic presses and other manufacturing equipment.
- Conduct equipment changeovers to accommodate production demands.
- Conduct quality inspections on processes, raw materials, and finished products.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment problems and make basic repairs.
- Stage raw materials at work stations using a forklift / hi-lo.
- Record production output, quality results, and reasons for equipment downtime in computer system.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations for set-ups, etc.
- Adhere to good housekeeping standards at work stations (5S a must!)
- Work with production teammates and other employees to generate efficiency, quality, and safety improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: Perform all functions on production equipment; perform preventive maintenance as needed; perform equipment changeovers; perform extensive quality inspections; set up staging daily; record all production output, or lack of output.
Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Experience Requirements: Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Skill Requirements: Strong attention to detail. Strong cognitive skills for troubleshooting problems and solutions. Strong listening skills; must be able to make decisions quickly. Use simple math calculations & hand held measuring tools. Work both autonomously & as a team.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand 100% of the time. Job involves twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs throughout the day.

- Note: If an employee opts out of their medical coverage with Trenton Forging Company, the Company will pay the employee $70 weekly – totaling $3640 annually. Dental, Vision and Accident Insurance plans through Guardian are also available at negligible costs to the employee. If the employee selects one of the HSA medical plans above, they are automatically enrolled in a Health Savings Account (HSA). The Company makes $500 annual contributions for employees who choose single-person medical coverage and $1000 annual contributions for coverage of 2 or more persons.
- Life Insurance Our forging company automatically pays for a $15,000 life insurance policy for each employee. Additional life insurance may be purchased by the employee, up to $100,000 in employee coverage, $50,000 in spousal coverage, and $10,000 coverage per child.
- 401(k) On the first month after 60 days of employment, all employees are eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan with Merrill Lynch. In profitable years, the Company may match employee contributions with discretionary bonuses to all employees currently participating in our 401(k) plan.
