We are committed to assisting, advocating for and supporting families through the Judicial process by assessing, supervising, and connecting to ongoing services in order to provide an alternative to detention which will ultimately reduce recidivism and long-term involvement in the juvenile justice system. Trestle Programs, Inc. operates programs in 7 of the 22 Judicial Districts throughout Colorado.

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for direct supervision of the Accounting Specialist.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
As our Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of our organization. Here are some of the exciting responsibilities that await you:
Accounting & Finance Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. In conjunction with the Accounting Specialist, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including program managers, human resources, and administration, to provide financial guidance and support.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Regularly review financial processes and recommend improvements for increased efficiency.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and support the annual financial statement audit, liaising with external auditors as necessary.
Contracts Responsibilities
- Contract Management: In conjunction with the organization’s attorney, oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and executing contracts with program vendors, and partners.
- Compliance Monitoring: Manage the organization’s comprehensive compliance monitoring system to track and evaluate contract compliance.
- Risk Mitigation: In conjunction with the organization’s attorney, identify and assess risks associated with contractual agreements and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish appropriate risk management protocols and ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance contract management processes and systems to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and strengthen compliance measures. Identify opportunities for process automation or other technological solutions to enhance contract management practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a preferred degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in the social services sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
- Proficient in financial software and systems, such as QuickBooks, Excel, or similar tools.
- Previous experience in contracts management, preferably in the social services sector.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Professional Accounting Designation such as CPA, CMA, etc. is preferred but not required.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for social work and a desire to contribute to our mission.
- Ideal candidate will reside in Colorado to be able to attend in person meetings with Programs, Leadership members and attend board meetings
