What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Analyst I position at TreviPay?

TreviPay, a global payment solution company, specializing in billing and payment solutions, is looking for an ideal candidate for a Data Analyst I.  The Data Analyst is dedicated and committed to providing best-in-class information and analysis by implementing tools and techniques for the efficient acquisition, organization, integration, and secure storage of TreviPay mission-critical data and providing expert consultation improving decision making, operational efficiencies and excellence.

 

Essential Capabilities

  • Champion and deploy data analysis methodologies and toolsets across the organization; build capability through knowledge sharing and coaching; create and maintain a reputation of the Data & Analytics department as the “go to” source for any analytical problem solving or project initiatives
  • Gather and cleanse data using statistical querying languages that translate into well designed dashboards and reports ready for stakeholder consumption; effectively communicate findings and present recommendations to business teams; collaborate with report builders in the reporting environments; promote a business intelligence culture and work to make the use of business intelligence pervasive within TreviPay
  • Work with stakeholders to define requirements, then provide measurement and analysis; engage as a consulting partner for the lifecycle of data driven projects, decision support, and process improvement initiatives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement interactive analytic reports, dashboards and data visualizations, both internally and externally, to support business decisions and identify areas to grow or improve.
  • Elicit and document assumptions, requirements, business rules, and workflows to support new products or features
  • Engage in process improvement projects by providing current state analysis and efficiency recommendations
  • Leverage business subject expertise (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, Economics, Market Research, etc.) and data to create robust analytical based solutions
  • Partner with teams to synthesize reporting and provide interpretation/translation that results in effective actionable recommendations
  • Utilize best practices to develop statistical sound analyses that address business needs by developing reports, uncover trends, and diagnose problems.
  • Assume full ownership for the creation and management of internal reporting/data visualization solutions
  • Identify time and resource consuming processes through regular process analysis and communicate findings
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets using statistical techniques.
  • Align with the Data & Analytics Engineering team to determine the priority of requests, test and validate data as needed.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, statistics, finance or other business-related field or equivalent work experience in business analytics
  • Previous academic or professional experience in data analysis, finance, and/or database development environment
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Experience working with large volumes of complex data
  • Proficient using MS Office Suite
  • Ability to quickly learn all technology needed in order to perform the role

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations
  • Experience in utilizing relational databases and big data tools to manage large data sets for analytical purposes, including Snowflake, SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Pig, AWS, etc.
  • Transactions or payments industry background
