What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Creative Technology position at TRG?
The head of creative technology leads the development of new types of work for the agency and its clients. They oversee and participate in brainstorms, internals, and client presentations. They empower their teams to learn new skills and craft creative work at a world-class level. In the process, they lead their team through innovation roadmaps, innovation sprints, and individual projects.
As part of the agency’s innovation team, you will report directly to the chief innovation officer. You will be joining a tight-knit team of designers, strategists, product specialists, and creatives to fearlessly create game-changing ideas for our clients – always pushing the boundaries of what their brands can make, say, and do.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead concepting: Create and lead brainstorms and other idea-development processes for innovation-focused teams. Lead in concepting, organizing, and creatively expanding ideas using existing, new, and emerging technology. Use cultural tensions, brand truths, consumer behaviors, and technological changes as fuel for meaningful ideas.
- Develop and refine concepts: Use creative and strategic thinking to bring focus, clarity, craft, and polish to the concepts and campaigns brought by each team member. Apply principles of user experience and human-centered design to solve creative problems. Iterate and revise concepts and experiences to raise them to a world-class creative standard.
- Communicate ideas compellingly: Envision and create prototypes, mock-ups, and other creative expressions. Use design software, coding skills, and any other tools necessary to bring ideas to life in internal meetings and presentations to clients.
- Identify strategic and creative opportunities on brands: Work with strategists and other creatives to identify opportunities to innovate with existing clients, driven by their businesses and their brands.

What You Have in Your Background
- Higher education encouraged (high school and college diplomas encouraged).
- Preference given to blended background that mixes a creative or design background with technology.
- Experience in communications. Eight-plus years of agency or production company experience required.
- Deep knowledge of creative software and its capabilities, and able to guide department-level learning.
- Adobe Tools: Photoshop required, Premiere or After Effects encouraged
- Figma or other similar collaborative prototyping tool
- Knowledgeable about modern prototyping forms, and able to guide department-level learning.
- Web: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Software: Unreal Engine or Unity, 3D modeling software
- Hardware: microcontroller usage, device-focused electrical engineering
- Strong technical skills in expressing visual and interactive designs.
- Strong ability to develop creative concepts, build a compelling pitch, and sell an idea.
- Experience with change management or design thinking a plus.
