Patient Registration Clerk

Tri Cities Urgent Care has an open position for Front Desk Patient Registar. Experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate. We are open 7 days a week, excluding some holidays, 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. Must be able to work 12 hour shifts including weekends.

FRONT DESK

• Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors, in person or over the phone
• Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette.
• Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized
• Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information at each visit
• Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
• Responds to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner
• Collecting copays and balances on account when patient arrives
• Fulfilling medical records requests and documenting such requests in log book
• Reconciling cash drawer at beginning and ending of shift. Initialing log after reconciliation
• Verifying insurance information in system at each visit
• Posting all payments as they are received
• Collecting all monies due for Fee For Service patients and/or services performed
• Responsible for verifying all payments received were posted correctly to the patients account
• Responsible for making sure demographics match insurance records which can be obtained when verifying insurance
• Route all incoming mail to Office Manager
• Records all cash, check payments on copay log
• Places all cash and check payments in envelope and placed in green box on wall at end of shift
• Protects patient confidentiality, making sure protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.
• Assist the back off with cleaning rooms, stocking rooms, etc.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Aledo, TX 76008: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Medical Receptionists & Patient Registrars: 1 year (Required)
• EHR systems: 1 year (Required)
• Customer service: 1 year (Required)
