Structured Cabling Technician
As a Structured Cabling Technician, you will be a member of a team responsible for upgrading client low voltage wiring infrastructure which includes wire pulling, pathway construction, cable termination, splicing, labeling, and data network cabling.
Specific Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Must have ability to install, terminate and test low voltage & fiber optic cables (to include single mode & multi-mode fiber optic cables, coax, Cat5/6, standard & solid conductor low voltage cable,)
- Dress and route cable into telecommunications closets, through attics, conduit, and between floors into apartments, and other work areas per job specifications
- Identify and remove redundant cabling
- Install Panduit, conduit, and/or innerduct
- Fire-stop various types of cable penetrations
- Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations
- Read and comprehend technical schematics, operation manuals, maintenance instructions and procedures
- Identify color codes for 568A, 568B, 6 strand fiber, 12 strand fiber, 25 pair and 50 pair.
- Complete projects within budget, on time, and in a safe manner
- Maintain the company’s high standards of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations, and team members.
- Submit all paperwork on time
- Adhere to all required project specific as well as company safety requirements
- Perform other duties as needs arise
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of structured cabling or structural engineering experience in multi-residential environments
- Construction background/experience is highly preferred
- Available to work full-time Monday through Friday with a willingness to work weekends if project(s) require
- Available to work variable hours and travel in our regional service areas
- Experience with testing, troubleshooting, and documenting test results for cabling
- Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) is preferred
