POSITION TITLE: Buyer
JOB SUMMARY: The Buyer has the responsibility of handling the day-to-day activities of buying and inventory management, as it relates to their specific areas of concentration, as well as working with other supply chain and company departments to provide high quality components, assemblies, and finished goods to our customers. In addition to these responsibilities, the Senior Buyer is also responsible for managing supplier risk and developing strategic supplier alliances.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Buyer
- Responsible for the on-time procurement and logistics of materials and services used in the manufacturing of products, assuring the lowest possible cost while maintaining quality standards and optimum inventory levels.
- Assist with the maintenance and continuous improvement of the manufacturing control system.
- Maintain supplier record accuracy and purchased part item parameters in the Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) System.
- Responsible for complete supplier account maintenance and accuracy.
- Manage and maintain purchased part planning parameters.
Senior Buyer
- Responsible for strategic supplier risk management including evaluation and mitigation.
- Strategic supplier alliance development and maintenance.
- Develop, implement, and manage supplier contracts as business warrants.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Buyer
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years manufacturing, purchasing and planning experience.
- Experience with MRP/ERP implementation and utilization.
- ISM or APICS Certification preferred.
Senior Buyer
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 7 years manufacturing, purchasing and planning experience.
- Experience with MRP/ERP implementation and utilization.
- ISM or APICS Certification required.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface positively with all departments at all levels of management, customers, and suppliers.
- Able to work effectively in a diverse work environment and results oriented culture with a high degree of urgency.
