Description


Summary: The Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible for implementing continuous improvement (CI) tools and processes in Alaska operations. They will identify improvement opportunities and work closely with plant staff to implement solutions that achieve process improvement targets including yield, efficiency, productivity, and maximum value.

This position will require 6 Months in Alaska per year with up to 2 months at a time onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with operations to implement continuous improvement initiatives in Alaska facilities.
  • Supports the training of operations personnel in continuous improvement concepts and facilitates their deployment of those skills.
  • Helps identify efficiency, productivity, and cost saving opportunities and develops. solutions to capture those opportunities.
  • Provides input in the design of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supports the development of a continuous improvement culture in Alaska Operations.
  • Assists in preparing and submitting project tracking documentation, as well as ROI capital expenditure requests.
  • Helps collect and analyze data related to KPI’s and other performance metrics.
  • Works cross functionally with operations and engineering to facilitate the design and installation of productivity enhancing mechanical solutions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Minimum Requirements


Experience:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience working in manufacturing, direct experience with the seafood or related industry preferred.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working in a CI or Process Improvement related role.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field of study preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Strong process and problem-solving skills, ability to think critically and analytically approach issues.
  • A background in or familiarity with financial data and information.
  • Working knowledge or experience with coding related to data manipulation or processing (R, STATA, SASS, ect.) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD or related process mapping software preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly active multi-site environment with differing environments and schedule changes.
