SCRUM MASTER ROLE DESCRIPTION
Summary:
As a Scrum Master you will play a key role in facilitating the Scrum process with the SketchUp R&D teams. You will help your teams adopt and improve in the agile principles and methodologies. Scrum Masters are servant leaders guiding teams to continuously improve to higher levels of maturity by learning through inspection and adaptation. They serve as the Scrum framework authority for the teams and evangelize and educate teams on, not only the process, but the true benefits of following the process.
The Scrum Master empowers teams to deliver business value through their development and execution. S/He works with Product Owners to ensure the appropriate development and delivery of the prioritized backlog.

Primary Responsibilities:
Be a servant leader who helps the team do the best work it possibly can by coaching and supporting them on effective Lean-Agile practices.
Foster an environment where creativity, innovation, and empowerment can flourish.
Help to crush impediments that are preventing the team from accomplishing its sprint goals with the support of your fellow Scrum Masters.
Monitor existing dependencies and help to make other risks and dependencies visible to the rest of the teams.
Work with the Product Owner to maintain a prioritized backlog of ready-to-pull issues.
Facilitate team meetings to ensure alignment towards delivering the highest customer value.
Communicate well with your teams, the Release Train Engineer (RTE), and other stakeholders with a focus on alignment and progress.
Support the teams during our quarterly PI Planning events including helping teams prepare and execute the event.
Help to further the Agile community within the organization by creating learning opportunities for people in the organization (e.g. brown bag lunches) and advocating important Agile concepts.
Required Skills:
2 years’ experience as a Scrum Master in a professional environment supporting Agile Development Teams.
Experience mentoring and coaching individuals
Experience with conflict resolution (we do really like each other here) with a focus on facilitating the discussion of issues, different approaches and alternatives; and effectively resolving issues in a timely manner.
Enthusiasm and high-energy when needed but calm and neutral when facilitating conflict resolution situations.
Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in management, computer science, or engineering
Scrum Master certification(CSM)
Experience as a Scrum Master within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Experience coaching teams with a number of non-Scrum processes like ScrumXP, Kanban, and other processes.
Experience professionally or personally with 3D Modeling
