Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of senior patients, including vital signs, medical histories, and current health conditions.
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including changes in health status, symptoms, and reactions to medications or treatments.
- Assist physicians and registered nurses during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries, maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
- Coordinate and facilitate referrals to specialists, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments as needed.
- Provide patient education and support, including explaining treatments, medications, and self-care instructions to seniors and their families.
- Assist in managing chronic conditions and promoting preventive care measures among senior patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Stay informed about current healthcare practices and trends, participating in professional development activities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Valid LPN license in the state of Oklahoma.
- Previous experience working with patients in a primary care setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to senior patients and their families.
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare software.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust with senior patients.
- Current CPR certification.
