Description:
This pharmacist will be responsible for all medication verification/distribution and clinical activities. The candidate should also have knowledge of automated medication distribution systems, USP797 and the ability to prepare intravenous medication utilizing aseptic technique. The successful candidate should possess good communication skills, including the ability to interact successfully with other colleagues to ensure efficient and safe distribution of medications. Ability to promote teamwork is essential.
There is a weekend commitment consisting of either every other weekend or one weekend/month and also 2-3 holidays/year. There is also the opportunity to pick up additional shifts as they are available.
In addition to order entry and verification, our pharmacists also perform a variety of other functions, such as:
• Attend emergency responses to assist with medication preparation and answer drug information questions
• Receive microbiology results and contact providers to recommend therapy
• IV to PO transitions
• Renal dosing adjustments
• Warfarin/vancomycin dosing and monitoring
