Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care by applying the nursing process and incorporating the principles of relationship-based care. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, implementing evidence-based interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes. Additionally, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, prioritize tasks, promote patient education, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and application of Trinity Health's Mission, Vision, and Values in all aspects of practice and decision-making.
- Conduct holistic patient assessments, considering physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual factors, and utilize appropriate assessment skills for the designated patient population.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze patient information, respond to patient situations, and implement effective interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized care plans based on evidence-based interventions and standards of care, actively involving patients and their families.
- Identify patient and family education needs, create and implement teaching plans using established standards, and ensure effective learning through the use of teach-back methodology.
- Collaborate effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team to achieve patient outcomes, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives.
- Demonstrate awareness of potential hospital-acquired conditions and actively work to prevent them.
- Provide exceptional customer service, create a satisfying patient experience, and maintain respectful, accurate, timely, and thorough written and verbal communication with colleagues and other disciplines.
- Manage a team of healthcare professionals during designated shifts, prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities appropriately, and demonstrate effective team member skills.
- Organize and prioritize workload based on patient and unit needs, adapt activities and plans as necessary, and continuously improve organizational skills to increase work efficiency.
- Utilize available resources effectively, identify personal education and professional growth needs, develop plans, and seek appropriate resources to address them.
- Engage in quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities, integrate resulting changes into practice, and take initiative in problem-solving and recommending resolutions.
- Maintain cooperative relationships, handle conflicts constructively, and ensure the confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
- Prioritize personal safety and the safety of coworkers, report hazards and unsafe practices, and adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program and a current Nursing License in the state of practice, along with active BLS certification. Specialty area credentials (e.g., ACLS, TNCC) are required and must be maintained.
- Preferably hold a BSN degree.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience in the relevant area of specialization.
- Possess knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and age-specific needs, as demonstrated by successful completion of introductory orientation behaviors for Registered Nurse.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain collegial relationships with colleagues and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Excellent critical thinking skills to fulfill the primary duties and responsibilities of the role.
- Ability to focus, pay attention to detail, and plan and execute professional nursing care effectively.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Exhibit personal qualities of honesty, integrity, and compassion, inspiring and motivating others to uphold Trinity Health's philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to continuously walk and stand for at least 90% of the time.
- Capability to move, lift, and position patients.
- Effective organization and adaptability in setting and rearranging work priorities to accommodate frequent changes in tasks and projects within a potentially stressful environment.
- Compliance with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
- Frequent communication, both in-person and over the phone, with individuals in various locations.
- Exposure to blood, fluids, or tissue during tasks.
- Manual dexterity for operating a keyboard, along with good hearing for extensive telephone and in-person communication.
