Salary Range - $95,000 - $120,000

Position Summary

This position will support the Owner and the GC of the project. The project will include development of about 75 acres of undeveloped property and about 1.2 million square feet of building space including administrative offices, QC laboratories, logistics/warehousing, parenteral filling line production, and support spaces such as a central utility plant and maintenance shop.  The person in this role will be the point person in managing the day-to-day oversight of the construction site safety program. The Safety Manager will play a lead role in directing the site safety strategy and establishing a continuous improvement zero tolerance attitude to site accidents. 

  • Manage multiple general contractors across a campus build project – 10 buildings
  • Establish a safety program and committee across all contract teams 
  • Facilitate the safety portion of the pre-bid, pre-construction, and monthly progress meetings
  • Conduct safety leadership training for all management personnel
  • Review contractor project specific safety plans
  • Define and establish safety team to adequately support campus needs
  • Monitor and present safety metrics and trends on the site
    • Lead improvements based on data trends
    • Create and deliver training to increase industry knowledge, worker participation, and claim reduction
  • Lead safety investigations, recommendations, and improvements daily to determine causal factors and safe plan of action
  • Review risk assessments on high hazard work activities
  • Conduct quarterly performance and climate assessments
  • Interact with local city and county representatives as required
  • Manage the traffic plan
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates to leadership – local and corporate 
  • Engage daily with construction teams on JSA’s, work methods analysis
  • Manage the SDS & Hazardous material program 
  • Manage the Site waste management project



Requirements

  

Requirements

· CHST Required

· Construction safety experience

         o Significant experience working with large capital projects – greater than $500M 

· Experience leading safety programs with site teams in excess of 500 plus trades persons

· 10 plus years overall experience and experience leading a Safety team of at least 5 members

· OSHA 30

· Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities

· Proficient with technology and Microsoft office

· Motivated and self-driven
