Trinity School, an all-gender, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks an Assistant Director of Equity and Inclusion to further the school’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts, focusing on grades 7-12, beginning July 1, 2024. This assistant director will be a member of the Equity and Inclusion Team, comprised of an assistant director for grades K-6 and several divisional coordinators, led by the director of equity and inclusion. Strong candidates will be talented Middle/Upper School educators with a demonstrated commitment to engendering a genuine sense of belonging for all community members, eager and able to advance anti-bias in all of its forms.
The Assistant Director of Equity and Inclusion will focus primarily on faculty education and student engagement throughout grades 7-12. An important aspect of the role is working with and alongside the director and divisional principals to understand the many touchpoints of students’ daily experiences within the school, to support diverse student identities, holidays, and traditions while refining systems within the school that promote cultural, gender, neurodivergent, racial, religious, and socio-economic inclusion. This hire will serve as a strong, positive, presence in the life of the school, partnering with faculty and staff to address DEI-related issues when they arise. The Assistant Director of Equity and Inclusion will report to the Director of Equity and Inclusion.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement DEI professional development opportunities for faculty and staff;
- Partner with divisional principals to foster equity and inclusion across divisions;
- Partner with the grade level deans to implement DEI initiatives outside of the classroom;
- Partner with the Office of Admissions to identify and support students and families through the admission process, especially students from underrepresented groups within our school community;
- Assist with all-school DEI initiatives sponsored by the Office of Equity and Inclusion;
- Lead Middle School Community Forum classes.
A strong candidate will possess:

- Experience in expanding a faculty’s expertise and comfort with Equity and Inclusion work;
- An ability to help families feel connected to the work of building anti-bias, anti-racist communities;

Ideal candidates must hold a BA or BS degree and should have at least three years of full-time experience as an educator or counselor in a secondary school setting.

Salary range: $140,000 - $175,000 (salary based upon experience)
