What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Manager position at TriSMART Solar LLC?
The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the CAD and Design teams to design and develop solar energy systems. This role will be responsible for coordinating with internal teams to ensure all work is completed on time and are cost effiecient. The Engineering Manager will also work closely with the Director of Design to train and develop the skill sets of members in the department.
Manage the daily tasks of the CAD and Engineering teams and provide strategic direction
Develop engineering designs for the solar projects, review project specifications and requirements and provide technical guidance to the engineering team in developing designs that meet these requirements
Prepares engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; discussing these findings with the Director of Design.
Ensure all engineering designs comply with applicable regulations, standards, and codes.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals for solar projects and ensure all engineering designs meet regulatory requirements.
Manage the engineering department's budget and ensure that projects are completed within the allocated budget.
Provide technical support to the engineering team, and other internal teams as needed
Provided technical guidance to contractors and other third-party vendors involved in solar projects.
Manage all engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and other project documents. They ensure that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and stored in a secure location.
Resolves engineering problems by collecting and analyzing information.
Maintains team accomplishments by communicating essential information.
Complies codes and regulations from jurisdictions and research project related data as required by the authority having jurisdiction.
Enhances engineering and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
Understands and carries out all tasks given by the Director of Design.
Collaborates with other internal teams to make recommendations on process changed to improve the engineering process
Monitors continuously in-process quality, addressing issues as needed to prevent project holds.
Performs simple tests as directed by their supervisor, including recording of data on spreadsheets.
Evaluates design solutions against industry standards and regulations.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure that all solar projects are completed successfully.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or related field.
5 years of experience in engineering, with at least 2 years in a management role.
Experience in solar energy systems design and development, including knowledge of solar PV modules, inverters, racking, and monitoring systems.
Strong project management skills, including experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including NEC, UL, and IEEE.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive results.
Experience with CAD software and other engineering tools and software.
Familiarity with construction and commissioning processes.
Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
Salary: 60-70K/yr
