JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT: Triton Container Sales (TCS)
STATUS: Exempt

I. THE COMPANY:

Triton leases its fleet of containers to virtually all of the world's largest shipping lines under a variety of short-term and long-term leasing structures designed to help the shipping lines finance their growth improve their operating efficiency and better balance their global trade flows. Triton operates its business through 20 offices in 16 countries, and services its customers through a network of around 400 third party operated depot facilities spread across 46 countries.

II. FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:
The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for assisting the Regional Sales Managers with container sales and trading activity with assigned customers in North America. This role will support the sales team working towards the achievement of price, volume, and inventory goals. In this role, there is potential to expand and grow responsibilities within Triton Container Sales.

III. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage assigned customer relationships with the goal of positioning TCS as the preferred supplier with "last look" at each of our customers container purchasing needs.
  • Work closely with the TCS team to devise, agree, and execute plans for each customer on increasing market share and developing business in line with the department's overall price/volume objectives.
  • Cover for Regional Sales Managers as and when needed.
  • Be a day-to-day liaison between the Regional Sales Manager and the Customer Service Representatives.
  • Some travel throughout assigned region.
  • High frequency communication with existing customers, and colleagues as necessary.
  • Assist with TCS Digital Marketing Campaigns as well as lead follow up in CRM.
  • Work with regional team members to ensure our customer service delivery meets the needs of our customers.
  • Coordinate with the Logistics Manager for North America to push out or pull in sale inventory on domestic moves as appropriate.
  • Other responsibilities and projects which may arise.
IV. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience in servicing and building relationships with customers.
  • Knowledge of the container shipping industry preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products required with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent decision making and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work well with diverse cultures and ability to liaise with colleagues globally.
  • Ability to build strong customer and vendor relations.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Must be at a commutable distance (within 50 miles) to the Purchase, NY office.
  • We follow a hybrid working schedule of 3 days in the office (Monday - Wednesday).
V. BENEFITS:
The expected base salary range for this role is from $55,000 - $70,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
