Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to routine technical inquiries from internal or external customers
- Review application requirements and make battery and/or system recommendations
- Analyze and determine cause of failure to assist Customer Quality team (field complaints, RMA, and warranty claims)
- Conduct field testing and data collection of customer application systems to evaluate battery compatibility
- Prepare and present product- and application-related materials
- Review and update sales support materials (datasheets, instruction manuals, website, etc)
- Request and monitor validation testing of chargers/algorithms, systems, and application-specific equipment
- Assist with testing to support Marketing and Product Engineering as needed
- Perform routine golf course evaluation testing
- Perform field and data monitoring studies
- Perform testing, analyze data, and report results for specific engineering studies that may be assigned
- Interpret and summarize data and test results to generate reports
- Review customer site data and provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and diagnostic recommendations
- Provide on-site customer support
- Conduct or assist with field testing, including on-site installation and monitoring
- Other related tasks that may be assigned
Qualifications
To be successful at satisfactorily performing the duties, the individual will possess the following traits and basic skills.
- Good computer skills – including Microsoft Excel™, Word™, and PowerPoint™
- Ability to analyze data and create written reports that accurately relay the conclusion(s)
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working on many tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform with minimal supervision
- Basic understanding of chemistry and electricity
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or related field
- 2 or more years of electrical testing and data analysis experience
- Experience with data acquisition equipment
- Experience working with large databases (non-Excel)
- Basic understanding of electrical and electrochemical principles
- Battery testing experience is a plus
- Lead-acid battery manufacturing experience is a plus
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours as needed to accomplish objectives
- Must be able and willing to travel (overnight travel may be required)
