SUMMARY
The primary role of the Activities Supervisor is to ensure the smooth execution of daily activities and pool operations. This position will supervise Activities Attendants, assigning tasks, ensuring appropriate breaks are taken and that staff is following standards of service and adhering to safety protocols. This person will assist the Resort Activities manager with other tasks as assigned.
$20 - $24 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must demonstrate a guest driven style of service with an upbeat, friendly sense of urgency in all interactions with Juniper Preserve guests and resort members.
- Ensure the organization and upkeep/cleanliness of the pools, pool areas, activities office/desk, and other activity related spaces. This includes managing the supply of pool towels - ensuring towels are picked up, restocked and taken to laundry in a timely manner to ensure an adequate supply of clean pool towels at all times.
- Maintain activities’ work areas with necessary supplies; and ensure cleanliness is maintained throughout the shift.
- Supervise activities attendants ensuring proper execution of daily pool duties, scheduled activities and other programming.
- Ensure that Activities Attendants are aware of their task/station assignments each day they are scheduled.
- Monitor to assure all staff take all required rest and meal breaks within set time limits.
- Help lead/facilitate activities programming and contribute to planning and execution of department activities.
- Assist the Resort Activities Manager, when needed to train, guide and coach Activities Attendants and address performance issues in a way that encourages self reflection and provides positive and constructive feedback, based on performance.
- Respond to and expedite guest/member requests, by monitoring and replying to emails, matching requests with staff availability and resources then confirming arrangements with guests.
- Handle any guest/member issues in a courteous manner and with a high level of customer service. Remedy issues showing good judgment and referring/consulting the Resort Activities Manager for guidance to achieve the best resolution for the guests experience.
- Report guest concerns, incidents, or suggestions for improvement to the Resort Activities Manager.
- Conduct daily shift briefings with Activities Attendants, attend the resort-wide morning call and attend other assigned meetings.
- Ensure applicable activities billing is handled appropriately.
- Ensure the safety and well being of children participating in our Juniper Berries and Juniper Sprigs programming as well as other department sponsored activities.
- Ensure child safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
- Maintain accurate records, rosters, and waiver forms as appropriate.
- Ensure proper department procedures are followed and proper procedures are followed with any third party vendor activities/rentals.
- Assist the Resort Activities Manager in creating and posting weekly department schedules.
- Assist the Resort Activities Manager when needed to provide the Sales & Marketing department detailed information on all resort activities and events in a timely manner.
- Will work varied hours which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain complete knowledge at all times of:
-Daily arrivals/ departures/ house count
-Features and services of the hotel
-Hours of operation for each outlet
-Parking facilities, layout, and procedures
- Must maintain the privacy of all Juniper guests and resort members.
- Maintain grooming and uniform standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Manages work-flow effectively and in an organized and timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge as well as comply with all hotel and departmental policies.
- Able to effectively handle multiple tasks.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Maintains a professional standard at Juniper Preserve including, but not limited to, appearance, interaction with members, associates, guests of the resort, verbal discussions and written correspondence. Does not discuss work related issues with members and resort guests.
- Participate in and support efforts towards sustainability and environmental initiatives.
- Maintains positive attitude and flexibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required

- Must possess patience and a sincere appreciation for children of all ages with the ability to communicate ideas and suggestions in a variety of forms.
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Able to pass a drug test.
- Valid Oregon driver’s license with no recent alcohol related offenses or criminal record.
- CPR Certified.
- First Aid Certified.
- Knowledgeable and familiar with Central Oregon attractions and recreational areas.
SKILLS

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Requires a valid Oregon Driver License.
- CPR Certified, First Aid Certified
- Supervisory experience preferred
