What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Representative -Bilingual English/Spanish position at Tropical Cheese Industries?
Tropical Cheese Industries is looking for an outside Sales Representative in Connecticut to service the areas of Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, Stratford, Danbury, and Waterbury.
- Bilingual English/Spanish and a valid driver’s license are necessary
In the Field of Retail/Food Industry, experience is a big PLUS.
The Sales Representative sells products to businesses and individuals at the sales office, stores, showroom, or customer’s place of business by performing the following duties.
Sales Representative RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Meets/surpasses assigned sales route’s quarterly and yearly volume goals
- Achieves sales goals and objectives communicated either written and/or verbally by management
- Gains sales maintains and increases shelf space/products in Dairy, Deli, and Meat Depts.
- Gains and coordinates Ads and/or promotional activity at store-level
- Maintains and increases sales secondary displays for high-volume/featured products
· Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, and other sources
- Opens new stores/ locations in his assigned territory
- Installs and maintains POS material (e.g.: price tags, price cards, shelf strips, floor decals, etc.)
- Manages the Dumps-to-Sales ratio below the targeted percentage
- Inspects / corrects proper product rotation (FIFO) removes products close to expiration code or with unsatisfactory cosmetics
- Fills empty shelves with product in back stock before placing the order
- Visits/contacts every account department manager/buyer every 2 weeks
· Displays and/or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features
- Attends to all Store setups/resets inside his assigned territory
- Performs Market Pricing Audits every 2 weeks
- Reports any issues/opportunities (e.g.: product quality, new competitors, stores closings, new stores, upcoming events, anniversaries)
· Ensures that financially all accounts are up-date. Consults with Accounts-receivable Manager and Sales Team Manager.
· Takes temperature refrigeration unit reading at store level and records it on the order sheet
· Maintains his Files, Binder and File Box neatly organized and updated monthly
· Updates his Route Sale Call Book Monthly
· Prepares reports of business transactions and submits expense accounts monthly
- Attends all Sales meetings
- Abides with the company’s dress code during working hours

Sales Representative
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to maintain an overall positive and creative attitude with customers, co-workers, and management
Ability to address and resolve any customer’s needs requests, issues, or difficult situation promptly
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
