Summary
To provide design and installation support to the Salespeople of Integrated A/V Systems and its clients for installation of audio-visual systems; all other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design audio-visual systems for the salespeople.
- Assist Integrated A/V Systems’ salespeople with the technical aspects of audio-visual systems
- Define and approve Scope of Work for systems proposals which need review.
- Determine amount of labor hours needed in system projects including installation hours, programming hours and travel time required.
- Determine which items are needed within an audio-visual design to accomplish the purposes as described by clients and salespeople.
- Secure technical components for project material lists such as cabling lengths, interfaces and switching devices, fixed audio components, podium technical design for correct size and functionality to hold various components, lens requirements for accurate throw distances, all programming hardware for control systems and any other related technical components which require the advice of a designer’s perspective as directed by manager.
- Check current stock for substitute product for installs as well as for in stock items in general
- Give purchasing recommendations for products in project to the Purchasing department so that a schedule can be established.
- Design and coordinate with Purchasing custom hardware components and wall plates (User Interface )
- Submit design drawings to: salespeople, client, Installation team leader, manager and applicable subs before start of projects
- Design, when requested, video, audio, and cable run schematics.
- Regularly review and maintain technical bulletins/updates.
- Review blueprints for projects and maintain copies before, during and after completion. Copies to be filed in project folder area upon completion
- Maintain a daily log of time spent working on projects, answering calls, etc. and will utilize the billing methods prescribed by management.
- Will work on daily projects as prioritized in design queue outlined in daily work log
by management.
- Will perform site surveys when requested by management.
- Make sure all test and required certification procedures are verified.
- Archive the final design and programming files on Integration’s server.
- Participate in on-line, off site and local technical training when requested
- Assist Management by recommending inventory stock orders of items needed for
installations
- Will perform any other duties which are requested of designer for the purposes of
advancing Integrated A/V Systems

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
