Description

The Vice President of Operations (“VPO”) is responsible for leading the Operations team while creating strategies for streamlining business processes and achieving exceptional results across the organization in teammate/member engagement, club cleanliness and equipment operation/utilization. The VPO creates and executes operational plans; develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures and training materials; shares best practices and ensures consistency across all fitness clubs.

Requirements

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • As an Executive Team member, you will partner closely with the Executive Team while managing the district level and club level operations teams to deliver operational consistency in service, quality, cleanliness, speed and ease of understanding the onboarding experience for teammates and members.
  • Create and manage a training team for all functional disciplines within a club – membership sales, fitness services and operations.
  • Monitors daily Google reviews and ensures operations teams take a proactive approach to addressing member concerns.
  • Acts as key point of integration for organization performance and delivery of a best-in-class customer experience through cross functional support, training and accountability.
  • Responsible for the successful attainment of company targets (eg. Member engagement/experience, cleanliness, equipment utilization, revenue and labor optimization).
  • Monitor and optimize to exceed company targets while staffing to exceed standards.
  • Review and manage all forms, systems and processes to deliver simple and effective optimization of all work process steps.
  • Implement and assist system integrations for all teammates with the Teammate Handbook and operational manuals, with hands on training and support.
  • Review trends and develop strategies to ensure maximum profitability.
  • Develop action plans based on market tours, financial and competitive review to provide leadership with actionable recommendations.
  • Professionally represent TruFit, know all TruFit policies and procedures. Be the EXPERT.
  • Understand and assist in execution of all policies, procedures and standards.
  • Provide the Senior Leadership Team with regular feedback via status updates for enterprise, area and individual club performance.
  • Implement strategies to control all costs associated with field operations to reduce spending where appropriate while maximizing revenue and service opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate throughout the entire organization including our stakeholders and Board of Directors.
  • Ability to simultaneously be a strong leader, strategic thinker and disciplined operator.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans to deliver functional strategies leading up to long-term strategic plan.
  • Accountable for day-to-day business performance, resource allocation and team development and results.
  • Communicate monthly business strategy, progress and results to the Executive Team and, as needed, to the Board of Directors.
  • Collaborate with finance during the annual budget process to define annual expectations in line with company objectives. Once developed, meet all budget and member experience goals & objectives.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 15 years of experience operating in a large, complex, strategically important, multi-state business in the fitness industry having directed operations for 25 big box fitness clubs.
  • Proven track record in building and developing high performance operations teams.
  • Proven track record at monitoring and evaluating operational efficiency and member perception against expectations.
  • Collaborate with membership sales and fitness services to create strategies for business development and achieving sales goals across the organization.
  • Ability to build rapport with, and gain the confidence of, the existing operations and sales organizations to quickly integrate into the current team while adapting to, and fostering, the TruFit’s culture.

  • Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
  • Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office and/or gym environment.
