Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Controller/Accounting Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as experience in managing a team and overseeing financial operations. This is a non-remote, in-office position.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
- Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Assist with tax planning and compliance, including the preparation and filing of all required tax returns.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices, regulations, and software to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and financial management roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including GAAP.
- Proficiency in Sage 100 Contractor, HH2 Paperless Invoicing, Procore, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and experience with project management and accounting software integrations and reporting
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
