Emergency Roadside Assistance Coordinator

Position Summary:
We are looking for a full-time Emergency Roadside Assistance Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the transportation industry, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This person will report to the Purchasing Manager.
Primary Focus and Responsibilities – How You Will Make an Impact:
  • Taking incoming calls from drivers needing emergency assistance
  • Collecting required information from drivers concerning location and description of the emergency
  • Locating repair vendors nationwide, arrange a dispatch for repair service
  • Communicating with customer’s dispatcher to assist in managing drivers' downtime, load schedules, and up-time and, when necessary, making arrangements for substitute equipment
  • Maintaining log records of the breakdown events, providing progress reports of breakdowns that occurred during shift, and processing invoices associated with the breakdowns.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in business or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of experience preferred
  • Transportation Industry experience is a plus
  • Must have demonstrated internal customer service skills, including troubleshooting and problem-solving experiences.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Must have demonstrated strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively both in-person and through written correspondences with peers, managers, and leadership.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be required to stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 lbs.
