Summary
The Client Strategist works within a client team and serves as the strategist and day to day account manager on assigned clients and support for other larger clients. They are the general media planner and buyer for the purchase, execution, and delivery of approved plans. They are required to develop and maintain a solid understanding of the client's business and apply their media knowledge to deliver the client’s objectives. They provide support and follow-up for client inquiries and prepare research-based media strategies, along with presentation materials, media plans, and client proposals. They must have a working knowledge of the media landscape, proficient understanding of digital media measurements, and how to creatively apply them to meet or exceed the client goals. They must be well-versed in all forms of paid advertising and must stay current with the ever-changing landscape.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities. (Other duties may be assigned)
- Lead the development of media plans across all channels with the support of the Media Director.
- Brief media vendors or execution team (broadcast). Create and maintain flowcharts of media plans as well as actualized budget reporting.
- Study demographic data, consumer profiles, and client research to identify desired target audience groups. Understand agency research tools and know how to leverage them to create strategic plans.
- Coordinate agency POV (point of views) and rationale on media opportunities for client portfolio.
- Have ongoing communication with media representatives to maintain goodwill for True Media as well as personal strong working relationships. Issue insertion orders for media buys executed without an activation team. Check contracts to ensure match; reconcile any discrepancies. Input orders for print, digital, and OOH in Advantage system. Create and issue spec sheets to communicate media plans and goals to creative agencies.
- Work with ad ops to monitor campaign performance and make optimizations to ensure campaign meeks client’s goals. Work to help develop measurement plans to assess success of campaigns; prepare and share results externally to clients.
Qualifications

- One to 3 years experience in Media Planning or related agency experience.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of media fundamentals including, media math, reach/ frequency, consumer/market research, plan development, etc.
- Successfully pass Google Fundamentals and Analytics tests within 6 months in position, then renew yearly.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, degree or concentration in advertising, marketing or communications preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
