- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and distribution of safety documents, including policies, procedures, and training materials
- Help with the organization and management of safety records, ensuring they are up to date and compliant with relevant regulations
- Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries related to safety metrics and compliance
- Develop and maintain a checklist to track employee participation in safety training programs across all locations
- Assist in the scheduling and coordination of safety training sessions, including logistics and communication with participants
- Monitor training completion rates and follow up with employees and managers to ensure compliance with training requirements
- Conduct research and gather data on industry best practices and regulatory updates to support continuous improvement of safety programs
- Assist with the implementation of new safety initiatives, including risk assessments and incident investigations
- Participate in safety audits and inspections, providing support with documentation and follow-up on corrective actions
- Help create and distribute safety related communications, such as newsletters, safety alerts and posters
- Assist in organizing safety committee meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes and following up on action items
- Support the development of employee engagement programs to promote a safety-first culture across all locations
- Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data entry and report generation
- A keen interest in workplace safety and a commitment to promoting a safe work environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean MVR
- Normal business hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. The Safety Intern position allows for flexible and variable hours, based on your availability
- Pay rate: $17/hr
