The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the Inbound and/or outbound warehouse department functions and personnel. Manages and holds supervisors accountable in meeting department metrics to ensure maximum efficiency. Direct planning to assure optimum performance related to cost efficiency and continuous improvement. Responsible for performance management and development of leaders. Manage and support positive associate relations.
Responsibilities (May perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned).
1. Ensures compliance with all national, state and local laws and regulations, such as OSHA, DEA, and FDA. Ensures fairness and consistency through application of policies and procedures. Maintains appropriate and required reports and records for areas under his/her responsibility
2. Leads development of and communicates Productivity Improvement Plan for each performance indicator or area identified for improvement. Conducts observations to identify areas for change; conducts analyses to develop action plans to address operational and associate gaps. Leads inbound or outbound team in goals and measurement development and implementation. Reviews the strategic goals of the inbound and outbound area and sets performance goals.
3. Participates on distribution center management team; develops action plans for conducting internal analyses and gap identification Conducts daily status meetings with management team to review prior day’s performance and to develop action plan for current day. Manages volume and work through supervisors to meet all service, cost and quality requirements providing service to customers. Ensures organizational structure with staffing levels including hiring and placement, and scheduling. Effectively mentors and develops Supervisors associates through training, establishes objectives and communicates policies and procedures while building associate morale, motivation, and engagement
4. Executes and supports strategic plans as directed by the General Operations Manager. Provides strategic goals and direction to Supervisors. Works effectively with all levels and shifts of management across other DC’s to ensure best practices.
5. Develops, reviews, and recommends methods of operational improvement leveraging lean methodology, involving equipment, systems, corrections, activities, and practices within function areas within their responsibility. Emphasizes safety in all aspects of the operation through direction and review
6. Monitor efficiencies and cost of activities and allocate resources as needed to achieve goals while remaining within budget. Reviews current and future trends of functions for continuous improvement.
7. Ensures effective communication for Inbound /Outbound teams for clear, concise, consistent messaging. Makes decisions and takes action for the efficient operations of the DC, ensure positive associate relations including effective hiring decisions.
8. Support performance management with supervisors to ensure associates are meeting Safety, quality, and performance expectations. Partners with supervisors to create development plans to address gaps.
Education & Experience:
. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
. 6 or more years of supervisory experience in distribution.
. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires frequent standing, walking with occasional sitting, carrying, bending, occasional lifting 20 to 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching and gripping as well as constant seeing and hearing.
Work Environment: Non-climate-controlled distribution center.
Experience
Required- 5 - 6 years: as a leader in the logistics industry, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in the logistics industry.
Education
Required- High School or better
Salary : $51,700 - $65,400
