Mold Operator

JOB SUMMARY:
The Molding Operator is responsible for efficiently operating and monitoring molding machines in a manufacturing setting. This role involves setting up molds, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring proper material feed. Molding Machine Operators conduct quality checks on produced items, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform routine maintenance. They collaborate with team members to meet production goals, adhere to safety protocols, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. The Molding Machine Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of molding processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Knowledge of Daily Production Report
- Knowledge of product flow, in-process, finished goods, WIP, and scrap.
- Understand 5S organization.
- Identify and proper notification for any defects on molded parts or Inserts.
- Startup mold press and all auxiliary equipment
- Verify Work Orders for the material being used and perform moisture analysis test.
- Verify the process sheet with all parameters which include all auxiliary equipment.
- Able to start or verify process chillers, Dryers, sillmax, and those temps are on and correct.
- Able to follow WI and SOP for startup and shutdown procedures.
- Able to use PLCs and have knowledge of Automation robots.
- Knowledge of product flow, in-process, finished goods, WIP, and scrap.
- Maintain the work area clean and organize.
- Identify and proper notification for any defects on Rounds.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to perform start-up and shut-down procedures.
- Able to perform mold changes.
- ERP experience (IQMS experience a plus)
- Operate scanners.
- Basic Microsoft computer skills
- High School diploma or GED
- 3 year’s operation of injection molding machines in a manufacturing facility or comparable
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The physical demands and working conditions requirement indicated below are examples of the demands that must be performed in carrying out the essential job functions.
Physical Demands:
Sitting, standing, and walking (up to continuously); frequent use of computer and telephone requiring repetitive finger, hand, and arm movement; occasionally carry office supplies and other miscellaneous items up to 50 pounds. Continuous use of seeing, hearing, verbal communication.
Working Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
