What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auditor position at truenorth?
Purpose: Responsible for assigned locations with accountability to the senior auditor, store manager, zone manager, merchandising, operations and accounting department for the financial reconciliation of the store. Provides assistance in analyzing account records of designated stores to determine current financial and inventory levels. Must be proficient in the use of computers, specifically Microsoft Excel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examines and analyzes accounting records to determine financial status of assigned stores.
- Prepares reports concerning operating procedures: i.e. fuel sold, fuel levels, cash overages/shortages, documentation submitted, videos, and no-sales.
- Reviews data to determine proper accounting procedures were followed; ensures accurate and verified numbers from supporting documentation were used.
- Verifies purchases, expenses and trial balances by examining supporting documents:
- Invoices
- EOD Report from POS
- Lottery Terminal Reports
- Carwash Report
- Receipts for paid-outs, mileage, supplies, maintenance, etc.
- Coupons Collected
- Bank Deposit Slips
- Manual Credit Cards
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Computer proficiency required, including MS office (specifically Outlook and Excel), previous Point of Sale experience preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Previous experience in accounting or data entry preferred.
- High School diploma/GED.
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighting up to 25 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is primarily seated, but requires standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching throughout the course of the shift. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
