Buyer
TruFoodMfg is a leading contract manufacturer of private-label nutrition bars, protein bars, chocolate molded products, and baked goods. These products are sold at club, grocery, drug, convenience, and department stores worldwide. We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist.
The Buyer will be responsible for the full spectrum of the purchasing process including supplier management, purchase order execution, timely delivery and stock optimization. They will also work closely with the Senior Purchasing Manager, Production Planner & Warehouse Manager. This role will report to the Senior Purchasing Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the integrity of company purchases through verification and maintenance of all required purchasing documents; {contracts, vendor set up, item set up, pricing, etc.}
- Proficient use of companywide MRP system to create, submit and follow up on purchase orders for packaging and raw materials.
- Track shipments, monitor inventory and ensure supply of materials to support multiple production lines
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly procurement reports
- Monitor freight costs, make freight arrangements, submit and follow up on damage claims.
- Perform item master and vendor maintenance in MRP systems
- Develop relationships with suppliers to resolve delivery and quality concerns and obtain documentation
- Responsible for a specific set of customers to ensure their products are produced in accordance with the production plan
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or related field
- SAP/MRP/ERP experience
- Microsoft Office Applications with strong Excel skills
- Superb communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Problem solving with a strong analytical mindset
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills with concentrated attention to detail
- Self-motivated and pro-active with strong multitasking skills;
- Excellent customer service skills
