General Functions:
This position will be a key point of contact with members that are requesting hardship assistance. The position will review and the initial hardship application and communicate to borrower if additional documents are needed based on investor, insurer, and Truhome Solutions guidelines.
In addition, it will be necessary to conduct sensitive and challenging conversations with delinquent members to ensure we are obtaining all necessary supporting documents for assistance review.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Initiates contact with borrowers to discuss the hardship application and determine if additional documents are needed.
- Responsible for handling phone calls and correspondence from customers with questions or concerns regarding their loss mitigation support documentation to provide timely and accurate resolutions. Review of submitted financial packages and comparison to guidelines established by investor, insurers and clients to determine if all required documentation has been submitted or if additional documents are needed.
- Providing Cash department timely payment processing instruction on delinquent loans to ensure adherence to investor, insurer, and client guidelines.
- Working with members to obtain the required Hardship Application and financial documents for a hardship Assistance review.
- Promotes honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
- Respond timely to inquiries from borrowers, courts, attorneys, or Credit Union clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of FHA, VA, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHLB, GNMA and RESPA guidelines is helpful.
Knowledge of Mortgage documents.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines. Ability to Self-initiate and work independently without close supervision.
Ability to effectively use Microsoft word and excel.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
No physical requirements. Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is expected to work in general office environment with no travel. Overtime may be needed.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 5 years of Mortgage Collection or Default experience.
