ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1.Responsible for the installation, configuration and production turnover of Truist Database Services and servers.
2.Provides requirement analysis and evaluations for proposed data management software products and solutions. Develops or directs the development of utilities used for the monitoring, tuning and analysis of database systems.
3.Provide and assist with the creation of database(s), database schema and support for logical model with developments.
4.Maintain documentation, backup and recovery procedure for the physical and logical databases. Includes develop, monitor and maintaining backup and recovery solutions.
5.Assist with application developers, business users and project managers in the development of user access requirements, logical and physical database design, and disaster recovery as needed.
Assist with review of vendor configurations and patches adhering to best practices where allowed.
6.Provide technical writings and detailed documentation on technology standards and procedures.
7.Good understating of architecture principles within system and database technologies.
8.Ability to work with engineers groups on OS settings and recommendations.
9.Work with disk storage management group to determine appropriate disk platform and disk allocation configuration to support desired physical design and performance.
10.Independently be able to provide performance measures of transactional databases, identifying bottlenecks, disk analysis and other metrics to provide tuning recommendations.
11.Providing engineering support for industry best of breed applications for management of database systems and related security functions identifying risk.
12.Ability to make decisions for implementation, build and configuration for RDBMS and integration into the environment. Provide both solution blocks low -level designs for database systems .
13.Support in developing and supporting automation solutions.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in development or application support or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
2. In- depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
3. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
4. Ability to plan and manage projects.
5. Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices.
6. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.
7. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree and six years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
2. Banking or financial services experience.
