Grade Level(s): Secondary SALARY: Full Time $34,000/year (Flexible times will be necessary) SY-(8/28/2023)-(6/14/2024) Job Description: The Instructor of Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for the instruction of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) students in the didactic, skills lab, and clinical arenas. Providing a quality education for program students and performing instructional-related duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy, mission, policies and procedures of the school, RIDE and the RIDOH. Serving as a mentor and facilitator of learning. SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on meeting the diverse individual health and wellness needs of students within the district. Essential Functions Provides training and/or orientation on various health related subjects or policies (e.g. CPR/First Aid, disaster preparedness, child abuse, health education, etc.) for the purpose of acting as a resource to students, teachers, and other school personnel. Prepare and maintain accurate records; adhering to safety practices; administering first aid. Operate medical equipment utilized in school environments. Ability to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; collate data; and use job-related equipment within a defined budget. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with a variety of data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate job related equipment using standardized methods. Independent problem solving to analyze issues and create action plans. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Work under limited supervision following standardized practices and procedures. Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. Teaches assigned CNA courses and maintains written instructional standards; facilitates instruction using alternative delivery methods as needed; Informs students in writing of instructional standards; Participates in the assessment of student learning outcomes; Establishes, maintains and submits accurate student and instructional records in a timely manner; Collaborates in the development of new courses, curriculum, instructional materials, and evaluation tools; Assists with the preparation of course materials and curriculum updates; Plans, selects, prepares and implements appropriate active learning activities to meet all course competencies; Prepares, and/or selects and utilizes reliable and valid formative and summative in-class assessment tools/techniques to measure students' achievement of course competencies; Delivers instruction using active learning methods which accommodate different learning styles; Provides guidance and advice to students regarding course progress, program areas, or other academic concerns; Reviews and revises as necessary delivery methods, instructional materials, learning activities, and assessment tools; Analyzes CNA program effectiveness emphasizing a culture of continuous improvement; Applies and maintains standards of quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures; Implements changes as necessary to maintain a successful CNA program; Integrates knowledge of industry trends and professional training to continuously improve program quality; Maintains records in compliance with Rhode Island State Board of Nursing regulations and statutes governing CNA education.
