RSU #38 Maranacook Area Schools- A Caring School Community Dedicated to Excellence ELL Teacher (English Language Learners): Half Time RSU #38 is hiring for a ½ time English for Speakers of Other Languages teacher. Position Goal: To work with English Language Learners, or those students for whom English is not their primary language to assist students acquire fluency in English, both spoken and in the written word. The successful candidate will use instructional practices to provide support and instruction to students who are acquiring English as an additional language, to assist students to acquire fluency in English, both spoken and in the written word. The successful candidate will work in multiple district schools. Qualifications:
- Experience and/training offering ELL programming including instruction, performing assessments and the maintenance of records.
- Ability to work collaboratively with district staff in order to support non-native speakers obtain English language skills
- Knowledge of specific education laws, including state and federal requirements.
- To assist with the development of lesson plans that align with district curriculum and meet the needs of individual students
- Ability to work collaboratively with families, teachers and administration in order to benefit students.
