As a Grade 4 Classroom Teacher, the ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for students. The primary focus will be to facilitate student growth and development, ensuring that they achieve academic excellence and acquire essential skills and knowledge. You will work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive classroom community. Monitoring and assessing of progress: - Use a variety of assessment tools and strategies to gather data to monitor student mastery of instructional content, to improve instruction, and to assess the comparative performance of subgroups within the classroom. - Reflect on practice in collaboration with administrators and colleagues, monitor personal and professional growth, and pursue professional development in needed areas. - Perform relevant tasks and duties assigned by the Principal. Responsibilities: - Curriculum Development: Design and implement an effective and comprehensive curriculum, aligning with the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks and district standards. - Instructional Planning: Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning activities that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students in the classroom. - Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment that fosters a positive learning atmosphere. - Teaching and Facilitation: Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction, utilizing various teaching strategies and technologies to enhance student understanding and participation. - Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess student progress and performance through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to support individualized learning goals. - Individualized Support: Identify and address the unique learning needs of students, including those with special needs, by implementing appropriate accommodations, modifications, and interventions. - Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to support student learning, share best practices, and promote effective communication channels. - Parent Engagement: Maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, addressing concerns, and seeking their involvement in their child's education. - Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional growth and stay abreast of educational research, pedagogical trends, and best practices in education. - School and Community Involvement: Participate actively in school-wide events, committees, and professional learning communities, and contribute to the broader educational community. Qualifications: - Education: Hold a bachelor's degree in education or a related field. Possessing a master's degree in education or a relevant subject area is preferred. - Certification: Hold a valid elementary Massachusetts teaching license or certification for elementary education. - Experience: Have prior experience working as a classroom teacher, preferably in Grade 4 or within the elementary school setting. - - Experience with the WONDERS ELA curriculum is preferred. - Content Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks, as well as effective instructional strategies and assessment techniques. - Classroom Management: Exhibit excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. - Communication: Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community. - Collaboration: Show a willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team, actively participating in professional learning communities and sharing insights and resources with colleagues. - Technology Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in integrating technology into instructional practices to enhance teaching and learning experiences. - Flexibility: Adapt teaching strategies and approaches to meet the individual needs of diverse learners and accommodate the changing demands of the classroom environment. - Passion for Education: Exhibit a genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering the intellectual, social, and emotional development of students. - Current authorization to work in the United States. Compensation: Full Time Exempt Salary Position in accordance with the established Teacher's Salary Scale.
