Community Day Charter Public Schools/TCG is seeking highly qualified individualsrogram leaders, school leaders, aspiring school leaders (whom we will train), and quality teachers for elementary and middle school grades for our charter schools and the district school we will begin managing in 2013.
Join our team of pioneers as we chart the next phase of public education reform. Our work in Lawrence takes place in a setting small enough to demonstrate innovative, attainable solutions but large enough to be highly relevant to hundreds of communities across the country that struggle with successfully educating second language learners.

The Head of School will oversee the implementation of the academic model and oversee the day-to-day operations of the school. The school leader will work with the Cheif Academic Officer and the Director of Academics to implement the academic, social, and cultural life of the school.

Managed by the nonprofit agency, The Community Group, the mission of CDCPS is to provide a kindergarten through grade eight school that will draw upon our considerable experience in working together as a community to develop and implement a curriculum that discovers and supports the special characteristics and unique learning styles of each student. We will engage that student in meaningful learning experiences for the purposes of clearly stated goals in the areas of understandings, knowledge, skills, habits, and social competencies. The school will reinforce the positive aspects of our city: its culture, art and economy, working class history, and strong work ethic. Our educational philosophy, curriculum, and teaching methods are informed by an understanding that learning takes place in the context of family and that family must be supported in ways that make learning for the child possible. Duties
- Manages grade level teams;
- Collaborates on the hiring of staff and teachers;
- Supervises school staff and teachers;
- Works with the Chief Academic Officer to develop and implement the academic, social and cultural life of the school;
- Develops and supports a standards based curriculum that results in high academic achievement on language and math literacy;
- Utilizes a system of assessment that incorporates information into effective action planning for all grades and sections in the school;
- Collaborates on the development and implementation of school policies;
- Supervises the position of operations manager in supporting all school operations (including physical plant);
- Supports the parent program that builds positive parent-school partnerships;
- Collaborates and implements school related line items on the school budget;
- Collaborates with other HOS to convene and support parent advisory board; and
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications - Experience working with school-aged children;
- Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred;
- Seasoned supervisor and accomplished manager with background in education and a perspective and vision for quality education.
