The person in this role will implement all policies necessary in developing the organization's vision and mission. The Head of School will also help lead the Board in all legal and financial matters concerning the school.

Educational Leadership
- Designs and implements a complete liberal arts program for the middle and high schools, that promotes the CSS vision and mission statements.
- Determines academic goals for students to achieve and supports staff members in leading their students to meet these goals.
- Leads in mentoring teachers and staff in classroom management, data analysis, and instructional strategies.
- Analyzes and utilizes student data to identify how to most efficiently help students achieve their goals.
Management and Administration
- Demonstrates the core values of CSS to provide a safe environment which promotes respect, acceptance, and high academic and behavioral expectations.
- Oversees various groups and committees including beginning teacher groups, content groups, high school/middle school teams, and volunteer groups.
- Works closely with the Dean of Instruction to provide all resources needed to lead instructors.
- Works with the HR Manager on matters relating to the budget, expenses, and human resource matters.
- Creates and manages staff and student recruitment. Leads in hiring and promotional decisions.
- Leads in staff evaluations alongside the leadership team (Dean of Instruction, Assistant Head of School)
- Helps the Board establish roles and responsibilities for its members, develop meeting agendas, and strategize ideas that promote the success of CSS.
- Works with the board in implementing fundraising and promotional events.
- Collaborates with the Finance Manager on all long and short term financial goals regarding the budget and grants.
- Creates school year calendar.
- Works with Board officers and committee chairs to create efficiency and consistency for all groups.
- Oversees the charter renewal process and the completion of each year's Annual Report.
- Ensures adherence to the school's accountability plan.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in education or content related field
- Certification in education
- 1 to 2 years of education administration experience
- 3 to 5 years of classroom teaching experience.
