The Arc of Union County Smart Start Enrichment Program Lead Teacher Job Description 4 month Job Assignment $30/hr. The Preschool Early Education teacher is responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care. To develop partnerships with parents/child's caregivers to engage and encourage parent participation in program. The Lead Teacher is also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and local governing contracting agencies and adheres to all Arc of Union policies and procedures. Qualifications: bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in early childhood education preferred, a minimum of 2 years teaching experience with children with disabilities. Early Child Development knowledge and experience; working Knowledge of Creative and Core Knowledge Curriculum. Scope and Limits of Authority: This position is responsible for direct oversight, welfare and care of children enrolled into agency educational services. This position is responsible for providing sound management and training to the staff in supporting roles such as the Instructional Paraprofessional and works under direct supervision and instruction of the Sr. Director, Early Intervention and Smart Start Program Services. Work Hours: Work hours: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. Major Responsibilities Create a classroom friendly environment including a minimum of five (5) centers, such as dramatic play, reading, math/science, gross/fine motor, art center, manipulatives, etc. Develops, weekly plans, and implements age-appropriate curriculum/lesson plans to nurture and stimulate all domains of children's development.
