Qualifications:
- Current NC Teaching License in BK
- Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building an
environment with a common instructional focus
- Ability to design and deliver quality professional development for teachers and teacher assistants
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated strength in organization, communication skills, and efficiency in meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team
- Demonstrated ability to Implement effective instructional strategies, design engaging lessons, use data and formative assessments in the classroom
- Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality
Performance Responsibilities:
- Provide support to teachers related to implementation of curriculum and research-based instructional strategies
- Provide support to teachers related to data collection, analysis, and data-driven decision making
- Observe, consult with and assist individual classroom teachers in instructional and classroom performance
- Assist in the provision of staff development/workshops to assist teachers in improving instruction
Essential Duties:
- Provides on-site embedded professional development through side-by-side coaching techniques, modeling lessons, video-taping and using targeted teacher observations to enhance best practices in instructional presentation.
- Assist in developing and implementing professional development related to evidenced-based practices and teacher needs
- Conducts regular site visits in order to observe interactions and lessons with students, provide specific feedback and determine next steps in teaching strategies.
- Provide systematic feedback in a timely manner
- Participate in required meetings and trainings
- Works to support best practices for addressing the needs of teachers who may have children with challenging behavior, including identifying children who may need additional screening or services
- Promotes integrated strategies relating to the High Scope Curriculum, and Teaching Strategies GOLD to boost the quality of interactions with the children to promote child outcomes
