SUBJECT:Principal Account Clerk REPORTS TO:Director of Payroll, Procurement & Accounts Payable ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: This position will support the Finance Division and will be responsible for performing accounting and clerical duties necessary to process the district's accounts payable functions. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities) 1.Responsible to accurately implement contracts, as well as possessing a working knowledge of State laws regarding 30B purchasing. 2.Responsible for collecting, verifying and processing payments for implementation into City's financial management system. 3.Ability to organize data for submittal into district's electronic filing system. 4.Responsible to accurately calculate adjustments, including but not limited to invoice payments and remaining encumbrances. 5.Ability to provide excellent customer service and support to district's employees and vendors. 6.Responsible for interacting with School and City Departments including, but not limited to Budget, Grants, Nutrition, Facilities, Auditing, Treasury and Purchasing Departments. 7.Responsible for performing other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1.Must be able to demonstrate proficient skills with Microsoft Excel and Word. 2.Must be able to work independently and demonstrate excellent accounting skills. 3.Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as attention to accuracy and detail. 4.Prior experience in accounts payable or receivables necessary. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1.Bachelor's Degree in finance, public administration or related field. 2.Experience working in a government accounting environment involving knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations. 3.Knowledge of Massachusetts Procurement law. WORK YEAR: 52 week position WORK DAY:8:30am - 4:30pm SALARY:$53,300-$61,050
