The Saint Paul School Music Teacher works with grades Preschool through 8 teaching general music to choir. S/he collaborates with classroom teachers to ensure that opportunities for deep learning occur throughout the curriculum. S/he provides students with a rigorous level of music education while fostering the innate joy that accompanies making music with a community. S/he provides students with a safe and healthy learning environment that will nurture, motivate and challenge all children to achieve the highest level of academic excellence and to develop into mindful, responsible, contributing participants in their education and communities. Saint Paul School is a Catholic community in which love of God, neighbor and self are foremost. We provide a challenging curriculum promoting academic excellence infused with Catholic traditions and values. Responsibilities include: Remaining up to date regarding curriculum content. Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction. Responsible for Choir before school. Prepares students for liturgy and special events (Christmas Concert, First Penance, St. Patrick's Day, etc.) Responsible for mentoring students' understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments, when appropriate. Responsible for effective management of classroom environment. Responsible for effective instruction, which includes making learning goals clear to the students, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques. Responsible for using innovative approaches, and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn. Maintain data and documentation, as appropriate. Participate in school-wide professional development and seek continual feedback and coaching to develop as a teacher
