What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Tutor position at TrulyHired?
In partnership with North Carolina Education Corps. Scotland County Schools is seeking NC Education corps members to serve as reading tutors in Scotland County from September 2021 - May 2022.
Corps members will work part-time as reading tutors for elementary school students between kindergarten and third grade. Following NCEC's high-impact tutoring guidelines, tutoring will take place in a 1:1 or small group setting to emphasize social-emotional learning and maximum impact. Tutoring curriculum and activities are provided by the school and are grounded in the science of reading and reading instruction.
Each corps member will be assigned a Learning Coach who will lead them through pre-service and in-service learning during their one-year commitment. Learning sessions will build knowledge around high-impact tutoring, tutor-student relationship, and the science of reading and the delivery of reading instruction.
Corps members will be selected for service by NC Education Corps and hired by the Scotland County Schools. Applicants should anticipate 10 to 15 hours a week occuring during the school day, and a 9-month commitment (September-May).
