JOB TITLE: Title I Aide (English Language Development)
LOCATION: Atkinson Elementary School
REPORTS TO: School Principal
EVALUATED BY: School Principal
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The English Language Development (ELD) Title I Aide will support assigned student(s) throughout the school day.
QUALIFICATIONS:
WORK WEEK: Monday-Friday 8:10am-3pm.
PAY RATE: $25.00/hour. This is a grant-funded position through June 30, 2024.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The English Language Development (ELD) Title I Aide will support assigned student(s) throughout the school day.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED, required
- Associate's degree or higher in related field and previous experience/training (e.g., education, child development, psychology, etc); preferred
- Background in working with children
- Familiarity with elementary curriculum
- Demonstrates ability to manage complex/ varied tasks simultaneously
- Excellent personal and communication skills in working with school personnel and community members and with a high level of confidentiality
- Fluent in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred
- Assist ELD teacher with the preparation and reinforcement of the presentation of learning materials and in the performance of other instructional activities.
- Support multilingual learners in the general education class
- Participate in professional development about the Wit and Wisdom ELA block as well as Mathematics best practices
- Assist in administering and monitoring language Assessment tests; assist in scoring and recording test results, assist in computing and recording language level scores
- Remain abreast of current training relating to ELD methodology
- Assist teacher in academic or language instruction for LEP students according to WIDA and Massachusetts content standards.
- Assist teacher in supporting cultural adaptations for LEP students.
- Facilitates respect for students from diverse cultures.
- Facilitates and encourages parental involvement.
- Provide one-to-one and/or small group instruction and assistance.
- Collect student data for reporting purposes as determined by the School Principal.
- Maintain confidentiality of individual students and their families.
- Attend professional development activities offered appropriate to their position.
- Other duties as assigned by the School Principal.
